Search for Wild Kangaroos

Glenbrook National Park

Have a go spotting wild kangaroos in the Blue Mountains. We can stop into Glenbrook National Park, in the lower Blue Mountains, to try to catch the kangaroos feeding.

Kangaroos or no, this is a great first stop – after our drive from the city, the winding road down to Euroka clearing introduces you to the Australian bush.

We emerge from the van into the clear, eucalyptus scented, mountain air. We’re sure to be greeted by mobs of screeching sulphur-crested cockatoos and hear the haunting laughs of kookaburras coming from the trees.

We’ll have a stroll to stretch our legs and peer into the gullies and along the edges of the forest searching for kangaroos. Sometimes they are plentiful, sometimes scarce but it’s always fun to look for them!

Glenbrook National Park may be included on our Full Day Blue Mountains Tour as we have time to explore the off the beaten track. We generally stop for half an hour or so. The park is about an hour drive from central Sydney and on the way to the rest of our Blue Mountains destinations.

Glenbrook village is typical of the mountains – with a few streets of cafes, bakeries, and small shops. It’s a great place to grab a coffee and a treat if breakfast has started wearing off.
