South Coast Private Tour

The South Coast Tailored for You

Enjoy the South Coast in style

Spend your day your way away from the crowds on a visit to Sydney’s unspoilt South Coast.  From Royal National Park, to the Sea Cliff Bridge, and the Kangaroo Valley our experienced guides can show you the hidden gems of the South Coast.

If you’ve already been to the Blue Mountains, or you’re really just more of a beach person, or maybe you just like to get to places most visitors miss, then a South Coast tour might be for you.

We offer two different tours to Sydney’s south coast and hinterlands.

In 6 – 8 hours we can show you the Royal National Park, Symbio Wildlife Park, views along the Grand Pacific Drive, and the beaches of the northern Illawarra.

Over 11 hours – we can enjoy the views along Grand Pacific Drive on our way to the Kiama Blowhole, lunch in Berry and a return to Sydney via the Kangaroo Valley, Fitzroy Falls, and the villages of the Southern Highlands.

It’s your day –

we’ll work with you to fit in the activities which most appeal to you and your group

Royal National Park, the Grand Pacific Drive, and Beaches (6-8 Hours)

bald hill
Stanwell Tops

Most tours will begin with a visit to the world’s second oldest national park – The Royal National Park. We will wind our way through ancient forests and heathlands, ducking in to visit soft sand beaches hugged by rainforests and overlooked by sandstone cliffs.

We’ll enjoy the first of many sweeping coastal views from Stanwell Tops before joining the Grand Pacific Drive as it crosses the stunning Sea Cliff Bridge.

We’ll roll through the string of villages along the Illawarra Coast. We can stop for refreshments or lunch in Scarborough or Thirroul – possibly collecting take-away fish and chips for a seaside picnic.

This tour is about relaxing and enjoying the untouristed laid-back beach vibe of the Illawarra

Grand Pacific Drive, Kiama Blowhole, Berry, Kangaroo Valley & Southern Highlands (11 Hours)

Fitzroy Falls

On the full-day tour we’ll follow the Grand Pacific Drive to Stanwell Tops, over Sea Cliff Bridge and on past Wollongong to Kiama. There we visit the famous blowhole and enjoy a stroll through the high streets of this popular seaside town.

From here we turn inland. Our drive will wind through dairy lands to the country village of Berry – a good lunch spot. From here we drive on through stands of temperate rainforest and descend into a place which feels sealed from time – the Kangaroo Valley. We pass through this little village – the main street lined with old fashioned bakeries, a welcoming country pub, and a variety of shops.

Climbing out of the valley we’ll head for a view of the Fitzroy Falls in Morton National Park. Here, the Wides Meadow Creek tumbles a sheer 81 metres into the valley below.

Lastly, we’ll make a quick stop in either one of the Southern Highland villages – such as Bowral – or a cool climate vineyard, if a spot of wine tasting sounds like just the thing to round out your day.

Here are some of our popular destinations and activities

Royal National Park

On the 6-8-hour tour we drive through the world’s second oldest national park. The Royal National park preserves coastal heathlands which lead to sandstone cliffs interspersed with beautiful beaches.

Symbio Wildlife Park

Get up close and personal with koalas, kangaroos, dingos, cassowaries and other native Australian birds and animals.

Grand Pacific Drive

From Bald Hill Lookout at Stanwell Tops, we’ll follow Grand Pacific Drive across the magnificent Sea Cliff Drive and through the charming towns and villages from the Illawarra to Kiama (on the longer tour). On the shorter tour, we’ll go as far as Thirroul for lunch and a beach visit before heading back to Sydney.

Kiama and Berry

On the 11-hour tour we’ll visit the famous blowhole at Kiama. Feeling like seafood for lunch? This seaside town offers some great options; otherwise we’ll roll onto the quaint country town of Berry for a pub or café lunch.

Kangaroo Valley and Fitzroy Falls

We’ll cross dairy lands and take winding roads through stands of rain forest before descending into Kangaroo Valley – an inviting village time has forgotten. From here we climb up the far side of the valley and on to a lookout over Fitzroy Falls in Morton National Park.

Southern Highlands

A final stop on our 11-hour tour will be either a look-around one of the Southern Highland villages, such as Bowral, or a cellar-door visit at one of the cool-climate vineyards in the area.

For guests interested in visiting either Sri Venkateswara Hindu Temple at Helensburgh or the Nan Tien Buddhist Temple at Wollongong – we are happy to adjust your touring route accordingly.

Flexible South Coast Charter Itinerary

For the 6-8-hour tour

we suggest a pick up time of 8:00 am – 10:00 am. This is a typical itinerary, however, it’s your day, your way – so we will work with you to provide the outing you are hoping for.

Start – Royal National Park

Royal National Park is the world’s second oldest national park. The Royal National park preserves coastal heathlands which lead to sandstone cliffs interspersed with beautiful beaches. We will drive through the park, making a stop at either Wattamolla or Garie Beach.

Before Lunch – Coastal Lookouts, Sea Cliff Bridge, and Symbio Wildlife Park

We can stop at Governor Game Lookout in Royal National Park and Bald Hill Lookout at Stanwell Tops – both offer sweeping views of the cliffs and beaches of the New South Wales coast. If you’re in need of a morning pick-me-up, the Flying High Cafe at Bald Hill serves coffee and cakes.

For those wishing to have close encounters with Australian native animals and birds – we’ll next stop at Symbio Wildlife Park. Otherwise, we continue on our relaxed journey south, first crossing the engineering wonder that is the Sea Cliff Bridge. Those not visiting Symbio will have time to cross the bridge on-foot, if they wish.

Lunch and Free time – Scarborough, Austinmer, and Thirroul

All of the villages of the northern Illawarra – including Scarborough, Austinmer, and Thirroul – have their own character. All offer excellent lunch options as well as beaches and seaside walking paths. Here we have time to just relax and soak in the laid-back Australian lifestyle.

Sydney Return – Via Bulli Lookout

On our way back to Sydney we’ll stop in for one last sweeping view of the coast from the Bulli Lookout.

For the full day, 11 hour tour

we suggest a pick up time of 7:00 am. However, if you wish for this tour to be a one-way transfer to Kiama, Berry, or the Southern Highlands (all served by Sydney rail for your return on a following day) we can start later.
