Hunter Valley Private Tour Itineraries and information

Suggested Pick up time: 7 am to 9 am. 9-11 hours. This is an example of an itinerary; however, all itineraries are flexible to suit you and may be adjusted on the day.

Depart Sydney or the Hunter Valley

Morning: Mount View or Broke Fordwich and Pokolbin—wine tasting

The town of Pokolbin is at the centre of the wine-growing region of the Hunter Valley.

So we focus our tours on wineries near Pokolbin. One of the two spots we recommend outside Pokolbin are Mount View and Broke Fordwich, where we recommend spending either the morning or afternoon in one of these areas.

Mount View offers panoramic scenery from Mount View Road. Afterwards, we can visit Carillion Wines or Bria Ridge Wines and then dine at Bistro Molines.

Is there a selection of wineries you are keen to visit? We’ll plot the route and make sure to hit them all. It’s very much your day, your way.

However, if you’d prefer to leave the decisions to us, we’ll show you our favourites. If some varieties are more your style than others, just let us know, and we’ll introduce you to the right vineyards.

We can visit a few cellar doors before lunch—perhaps hitting a cheese shop along the way, just for some balance.

Lunch: Boutique Restaurants and Fine Dining

When you are ready for lunch, the Hunter Valley supplies a wealth of options. Favourites include Café Enzo, The Baumé Restaurant, and Brokenwood. Other options may include platters of cheese or charcuterie boards while you taste wine or sit down on a picnic rug outside. Fine dining options such as Bistro Molines, Muse Kitchen, or The Margen Restaurant may be arranged.

Afternoon: Wineries and chocolate shop

With our remaining time we’ll fit in more wineries and, perhaps, round out our day with locally made chocolates. Or for those without a sweet tooth—perhaps some olives are more your speed.

When the wineries and most speciality shops close at 5 pm, it’s time to sit back, relax, and keep your eye out for wild kangaroos in the paddocks and vineyards as we make our way back to your pickup place.

Thank you, Sydney Adventures Tours, and a big shout-out to our guide, Mark, for an unforgettable experience!

We loved exploring Featherdale Wildlife Park and getting up close with koalas, kangaroos, quokkas, wombats, emus, birds, reptiles, dingos, and so much more.

Deeper into Blue Mountains National Park, we were treated to breathtaking views of the iconic Three Sisters, the Jamison Valley, and Mount Solitary—and then hiked down and across beautiful Wentworth Falls.

Mark was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.
For first-timers like us, he provided exceptionally clear guidance on the various walking options, meeting points and timing, and the best lunch spots in the charming town of Leura.

His wealth of fascinating facts—about the landscape, wildlife, Australian history, culture, and Aboriginal stories—truly brought the day to life.

He also created such a warm, welcoming environment that our group quickly felt like a little “family tour” of new friends.

Hands down, a 5-star experience!! - 11/18/2025

5 star rating Excellent tour, You will experience lots of different areas and sights. My husband and I did the Blue mountain tour. The Mercedes Sprinter was comfortable and spacious. The Featherdale wildlife park was a special experience. All the animals are so close and accessible. Feeding and petting was a great bonus.
The hike to the waterfall was lovely. Our guide, Mark was very knowledgeable. Like having a botanist teaching us about the trees, plants and his own personal experiences. I would highly recommend this tour. Everything from beginning to the end was memorable and fun. - 11/18/2025

Our small group tour to the Blue Mountains with Mark as our driver and guide was absolutely fantastic. With just four of us and another couple, the experience felt personal and relaxed. Mark’s knowledge of the area was impressive — even as Australians, we discovered new and fascinating facts throughout the day. The scenery was breathtaking, the atmosphere was friendly, and there was plenty to see and do. This tour was truly one of the highlights of our time in Sydney. Highly recommended! - 11/17/2025

A great day trip to the blue mountains. Mark was a fantastic guide - knowledgeable, funny and engaging. As well as free time to explore, Mark also joined us for part of the walks and in the wildlife park to share interesting facts and stories. We specifically chose this tour as it’s a small group and focuses on maximising time in the blue mountains. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Sydney. - 11/14/2025
