Sydney Discovery Tour
Small Group 6-hour tour of Sydney’s highlights including Bondi Beach, The Rocks, Bridge Crossing, and Stunning City Views from the North Shore

Whether you have limited time and want to make sure you see all the best of Sydney or you’re starting a longer visit and want an excellent overview of Sydney, this tour is for you.

On this Sydney Discovery Tour, your expert local guide will introduce you to their city.

In a group of no more than 15 passengers, we travel in comfort from the city to the Eastern Suburbs and Bondi Beach. Here we have time for short coastal walk, quick dip in the ocean, or a stroll among the shops and cafes.

We make a lunchtime stop at the iconic Harry’s Café de Wheels in Woolloomooloo – a great chance to try an Australian meat pie (vegetarian options are also available). Next, we introduce you to the oldest European neighbourhood in Sydney – The Rocks, before slipping over Sydney Harbour Bridge to take in stunning views of the City from the North Shore.

You have the option of finishing your tour at Milsons Point where you can explore Kirribilli, Luna Park, and Wendy’s Secret Garden on your own before returning to city either by foot over the bridge, by ferry or train. Otherwise, you’ll be returned to your collection point in central Sydney.

Itinerary

9:30 amMrs Macquaries Chair

We stop at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair for an iconic Opera House and Bridge view.
On our way we see 19th century heritage buildings, the State Library of New South Wales, the Parliament House of NSW, historic Sydney Hospital, convict designed and built Hyde Park Barracks and St James Church, the Royal Botanical Gardens, and the Art Gallery of NSW

10:30 amBondi Beach

From Mrs Macquarie’s Chair we drive to Bondi Beach.
Along the way we see St Mary’s Cathedral, Hyde Park, the beautiful terrace houses of residential Paddington, and our first sighting of the Pacific Ocean at Tamarama.
We spend 40 minutes at Bondi – it’s your choice of how to spend them. Options include:
– Taking a short coastal walk,
– Enjoying a quick dip in the ocean and sunbathing on the beach,
– Relaxing in a café
– Doing a spot of shopping

11:45 amVaucluse House

From Bondi Beach we push into the leafy and well-heeled residential areas of the Eastern Suburbs and stop at the Vaucluse House gardens.
We pass a spectacular city view at Dudley Page Reserve and roll through Watson’s Bay before stopping to admire Vaucluse House. This is one of the few remaining 19th century mansions still surrounded by its original gardens and wooded grounds.

12:30Harrys Café de Wheels

From Vaucluse House we drive past the home of Sydney’s first international airport – at beautiful Rose Bay. Yes, the first international flights to arrive in Sydney were seaplanes!
Next, we pass through the historic nightlife district, Kings Cross, on our way to a quick lunch stop in Woolloomooloo.

Here the most popular destination is Harry’s Café de Wheels. A local institution, Harry’s has been serving up their famous meat pies since the 1930s. Vegetarian options are available too.

1:30 pmThe Rocks

We’ll point out the shopping areas along Market Street and the glorious 19th century Queen Victoria Building on our way to The Rocks.
The Rocks is the oldest European neighbourhood in Australia and full of sandstone buildings and cobbled lane ways. We’ll share some history and point out places you may want to check out during your time in Sydney.
Guests have the option of leaving the tour here should they wish.

2:00 pmThe North Shore

We’ll stop at several lookouts from which we’ll take in the fantastic sweeping views of the Harbour and City. This is a great opportunity to take photos that not every visitor to Sydney gets a chance to take.

3:00 pmMilsons Point and Kirribili

We cap off the day with what we think it the singularly best view of our harbour. From Milsons Point, almost under the north side of the Sydney Harbour Bridge – the whole of the city and its harbour is spread out before your eyes.
Guests have the option of leaving the tour here to take their time exploring Kirribilli, Luna Park, or Wendy’s Secret Garden. You can return to the city by foot over the bridge, by ferry, or train. Guide will provide additional information as needed.
