Tyrrell’s Wines started in Pokolbin in 1858 with a concessional allotment of 320 acres marking the start of over 150 years of fine wine making.  Since 1971, Tyrrell’s has been awarded over 5,000 trophies and medals and in 2010 was named “Winery of the Year” in James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion.

Hunter Valley Wines

Possibly the world’s best Semillon region, thriving in the Hunter sandy soils, it has lemon and lime flavours, citrusy crispness and a natural lively acid, enjoy as a youngster on a hot day, or take advantage of its wonderful ageing potential. The Shiraz red is medium bodied, savoury and food friendly, can age for decades and is one of the most sought-after wines in Australia. The Verdelho is fruity and a great wine for the occasional drinker.

Brooklyn Morning Tea and (or) Australia Walkabout Wildlife Park are morning activities, in which case Tyrells Winery is visited in the afternoon as wine tasting only and your guide will conduct a short tour of the wine making facilities instead.
