We travel along the northern shores to Mosman and Georges Heights where we pause at the old harbour fortifications and panoramic views at Middle Head or into the Sydney Harbour National park for a short harbourside walk to Bradley’s Head. Perhaps stop for a quick coffee or even lunch at Clifton Gardens or Balmoral Beach.
We cross the beautiful Middle Harbour and the Spit Bridge, to Seaforth and to Manly Beach.
Manly features a long beach on the ocean side. This is followed by rock pools and sandy beaches called Fairy Bower and Shelly Beach. There are also a number of beaches on the harbour side of the peninsula called Manly Cove. Norfolk Island pine trees are symbolic of Manly and are a prominent feature of both the ocean and harbour beaches.
The Corso, a pedestrian mall which runs between the harbour side and the ocean beach is a focal point of Manly with popular surf shops, pubs, cafes, galleries, and street entertainment.
Manly is a must visit Sydney destination offering waterfront restaurants, attractions, adventure and entertainment for young and old. Dine in one of the many restaurants and cafés, pick up some fish n’ chips, relax on the beach, enjoy sensational views and simply take in the ambience of this cosmopolitan resort-style location.
No visit to the North is complete without a drive to North Head for panoramic views of the harbour and the ocean. North Head’s Fairfax Walking Track offers a paved path consisting of several “postcard worthy” lookouts. The 1km track is an enjoyable stroll, fantastic for families and is wheelchair accessible. The lookouts also offer the perfect whale watching platform during migration seasons, June–July and August–October.
When it’s time to head back to the city you may choose to return at your pace via the Manly Ferry or let us drop you at Taronga Zoo with convenient Mosman ferry city trip.
